Video Mailbag (volume 1)
By Athletes' Acceleration | June 1st, 2009
I get a lot of emails.
(Some better than others.)
So each week I’m going to be answering some
of the gems that end up in my inbox.
Instead of writing out the answers (which means
you’ll get less info), I’m recording the
answers on video where you’ll get more quality
training content…
…and my special brand of comedy:

Latiff, I loved the first volume of your Video Mailbag, I’ve got to say it was quite entertaining. If the coach you referenced in your video ever contacts you with a solution to the mystery, please share with us all! I think the 5 lbs. of creatine is a good indicator that something isn’t quite right. Keep up the great work!

Latif,
I just recently purchased your complete speed training package and have found it to be very informative. I am in the process of helping my son,and his friends that are interested in learning how to improve their speed as well as train in a safe snd systematic way develop their emerging potential as young athletes (8th-9th grades).
I am a self employed physical therapist with 23 years of clinical experience treating sports injuries, and coached multiple youth sports. My undergraduate degree in P.E. with exercise physiology emphasis has given me some expertise in working with youth athletes.
I APPLAUD YOU ON YOUR VIDEO E-MAIL WHERE YOU TAKE THE POSITION THAT DEVELOPING ATHLETES NEED TO ATTAIN THE FUNDAMENTAL BIOMOTOR ABILITIES BEFORE SPORT SPECIFIC TRAINNG BECOMES THE WHOLE FOCUS!! KEEP UP THE GOOD WORK AND I WILL LOOK FORWARD TO LEARNING MORE ABOUT THE COMPLETE SPEED TRAINING PACKAGE.

Hi Latif, i recently bought your speed program for my son (19 yrs. old) And found it fully loaded with valuable info and great drills. He used to play baseball since he was 12 years old. He is changing to track and field this year (long jump and 100-200 mts). he is following your speed program, but we are uncertain in when to implement plyometrics during training. Do you use it all the year or only during preseason? Please any help on how to use and incorporate the plyos in his speed training. Should we use plyos during his peak period?
His mayor competition periods are between march and june (three monts).
Thanks for you help!

Latif! the people are hilarious. lol! and you know with any positive work out there it has to be someone with a incrediable ego saying i can do that! we as coaches have to network with each other and gain information were basicaly scientist. whe a chemical scientist is reasearching something they study with another professor at his or her instition or at another institution. its not that hard. when they do extreamly well and it makes a diffrence in the world they might when a nobel peace prize! and distinctive companies pay for the information. if you have a creative idea and get a patent for something that truly works. companies will pay big money for it! stay true Latif Peace!!!

I appreciate your perspective on a holistic approach for training young athletes. This is undoubtedly a more optimal and intelligent way to go in training our youth.

Latif, (one F, not two)
Keep this stuff up…you provide athletes, coaches, followers and more with great insight on how our future of athletic development should be; idealism to a good respect. Not everyone will follow better, healthier ways of teaching/coaching the youth and if that’s the case, they should just stay in the cheering section, not coaching or breaking down athletes future potential.
